Whittier Transition to Kindergarten
Students who currently attend Whittier Early Childhood Center do not have to schedule a screening appointment. Current WECC students will have conversations about kindergarten at their February conferences. Whittier Early Childhood Center staff will communicate with families about the process of updating student records in PowerSchool after March 4, 2024.
In April, Whittier staff will work with primary school kindergarten teachers to share information about your child's skills through the assessments they have tracked in your child's binder. Additionally, the kindergarten teachers will spend time in the preschool classrooms observing and interacting with those students who plan to transition to kindergarten.
