• Whittier Early Childhood Center serves preschool students beginning at age 3.
• Emerson and Longfellow Primary Schools serve students in grades kindergarten, first, and second.
• Northwood Intermediate serves students in grades third and fourth.
• Sidney Middle School serves students in grades fifth through eighth.
• Sidney High School serves students in grades ninth through twelfth.
• Alternative education opportunities are available for students who require it, including the Jacket Virtual Academy, an online learning option for students in 5th grade and up. Additionally, high school students may be accepted into the Opportunity School program, available for students who don't fit the traditional day-school model. 
• Starting with the 2021-2022 school year, Sidney City Schools is offering the Jacket Virtual Academy (JaVA). JaVA is a virtual learning experience for students in grades 5-12. Unlike other online learning programs, JaVA is operated by Sidney City Schools and administered by Sidney educators who will work closely with and provide support to students and their families. 

Sidney City Schools has a preschool program housed at Whittier Early Childhood Center. Serving both students on IEPs and those who are typically developing starting at age 3, WECC introduces learning through play and exploration. Students with disabilities attend preschool for free, while those who are typically developing pay tuition on a sliding scale. 

In addition to quality education, the Sidney City School district is proud to offer students more than seventy extra-curricular activities.

Starting as early as fifth and sixth grade, we offer our students a variety of boys, girls, and co-ed sports like football, basketball, soccer, wrestling, baseball, fast pitch, tennis, cross country, track, bowling, volleyball, and swimming & diving.

Additionally, we provide our students the opportunity to become members and leaders of clubs like the National Honor Society, Mock Trial, Academia, FCCLA, FFA, Key Club, Student Government, and more.

Students may also choose to become involved in our highly successful music program by taking band, choir, or orchestra, or trying out for the high school musical which also invites seventh and eighth-grade students to become involved.

Sidney High School offers its students more than 24 College Credit Plus and Advanced Placement courses, allowing students to take and earn credit for college-level courses while staying at Sidney High School. The greatest benefit both of these options provide students is that many are able to graduate high school with enough credits to enter into college as a sophomore or junior. Some students are able to obtain an associate's degree in tandem with their high school diploma. 

Sidney High School offers career tech learning opportunities on campus through a partnership with Upper Valley Career Center. 

In 2013, for the first time since the 1950s, Sidney High School offered a vo-ag program. Our unique program revolves around the growing food science and technology industry - one that is especially growing within the Sidney/Shelby County community. Additionally, the vo-ag program introduces traditional ag experiences to our students who mostly reside in the city limits.
