For the 19-20 school year, 18 teachers across grades kindergarten through fifth will be piloting the mathematics curriculum, Bridges. Bridges offers a unique approach to learning mathematical concepts, building skills, and engaging in complex problem solving.
Students are able to learn directly from their teacher as well as on their own through structured investigation. Bridges taps into the intelligence and strengths of all students by presenting material that is as linguistically, visually, and kinesthetically rich as it is mathematically powerful.
Throughout the year teachers will have opportunities to reflect on Bridges and how it is supporting their students, informing district level decisions for choosing a mathematics curriculum for all K-5 students.
