Sidney High School has been preparing for End-of-Course throughout this year in their various classes. Over the course of a student’s high school career, they are required to take an end of course assessment in the following subjects*:
- Language Arts I (9th grade)
- Language Arts II (10th grade)
- American History
- American Government
The State of Ohio requires an accumulation of eighteen points on these assessments in order to graduate under the test provision. Each test score can earn a student up to five graduation points. Students must have a minimum of four points in math, four points in English and six points across science and social studies.
This spring the testing schedule will be as follows:
Buses will run a normal schedule on two-hour delay days. Students not testing will report to school on a two-hour delay schedule. This will allow SHS to test two very large segments of students in a more ideal testing environment. Students can refer to the rosters hung up by the main office to verify what tests they will be taking and their room assignments.
Parents are asked to please help ensure your student gets a good night of sleep and eats a good breakfast in an effort to have them reach their peak performance on each test.
This information will be available on the Sidney High School webpage, and the counseling office instagram: @sidneycounselor and twitter: @sidneycounselor .
Any questions about the current status of AIR testing and total points for graduation can be directed to your school counselor. The office phone number is (937) 494-2080
