Welcome to Sidney Alternative School!

JACKET PRIDE IS COMMUNITY PRIDE

Welcome

Welcome to Sidney Alternative School, an alternative to main stream education which offers a variety of options for students including smaller class sizes, a teacher and an aide in every classroom, blended curriculum with course offerings tailored to each student’s credit needs, and our own counseling program.

We place the responsiblity of making good choices on the student and support them when they are struggling to do so. We have an in-house counseling program for both group and individual session that is designed to reach the core of the decision-making process of each student. The goal is to lead students to think more rationally when they become emotional, and make positive decisions in their lives, in school and beyond.

Our program has also guest speakers and field trips periodically to broaden our students’ educational experience. Our positive rewards system coupled with a strong accountability discipline system teach students the skills they need to be successful in life. At SAS, we believe that every student has the potential to succeed. “Success is a choice, your choice.”
